  • heres an idea from left field.... i have seen a few projects using kitchen cutting boards. Those dense plastic ones 3/8 thick. you can cut it on a table saw into strips . set the blade to 15 degrees or what you think is a good angle then cut strips already tapered. then shape and cut to length. 

  • Hi, if I was looking for something different, and that will not need replacing anytime soon, I would use carbon fibre bar of a suitable size. But too much mucking about for me. Possibly unstable if glued to the top, so slots may be the go. It would look like your photo.

  • I would use something with more density: harder wood or metal. As for making them, it’s pretty straight forward, rounded top & flat bottom. Pretty much the shape of a bridge saddle from a classical guitar? You could glue them directly to fretboard or in slots, which gives them more surface area to hold onto? Good luck on this,  report back, I’d like to see what you come up with?
