Until this last weekend, I was convinced that to sound good, a LPG needed a coil pickup of some kind. Then I built this:
I liked the plate so much that I could not bring myself to cut a slot in it. So I added a piezo and acoustic strings... The result?

I used a snake oil humbucker on my LPG and love it! I did have to cut a hole, but a couple of holes drilled at the corners and a dremmel cut off wheel did it slick.

OK, thanks for the advice, I'll look into a dual set up
1 What sound do you want? In the end that's what's most important.
2 How is going to be played? Natural or distorted? If your planning on rocking this thing out I'd go with both. That way you can add or subtract one or the other as needed. Just a piezo could cause a lot of feedback.
I agree with Wayfinder. Both will be best.
