Just looking for two number plates one 1958, the other 1959 - doesn't matter what state although southern U.S. of A is preferred. I've found a shedload on sleazebay but either no bugger will post to Oz or I have to buy a pair which aren't needed.
I've got a Queensland one here green on white VEG-01 (yes it belonged to a vegetable wholesaler), might be able to do a trade or summut ;-)

Hi Jimmy,
I'd be interested what did you have in mind?
I just spent an hour (personal choice) checking and reading up on plates nth Amercian plates and how they're graded as technically in Australia you're not supposed to keep them, they have to be handed back to the RMS (DMV) if the car, bike etc is de-registered for what ever reason as you never really own them - that's not to say people do but you're supposed to ;-)
After all the reading and looking at pictures I was still none the wiser so I ended up back on eBay and typed in license as opposed to licence (our way of spelling) and got shed loads of 58's and 59's and going off the appearance of yours and comparing them to ones I saw they're prob worth about 9 bux each, but they're yours so I'll leave it in your capable hands to work out ;-)
I'll check the shop at my folks this weekend and let you know what I find.
Out of curiosity, what are the dimensions on the Queensland plate?
No probs, thanks for looking. - I'll just wander sleezebay, something that attracts my attention will pop up sooner or later.
Cheers Lane - appreciated. As for the QLD plate they're (about) 14.5" x 5.5"
Macs have a 1958 FC Holden in their biscuit tin lineup at the moment. Both Coles and Woolies had them just before christmas http://www.macsshortbread.com.au/gallery/products/400g-gift-tin/201...
Both 1958 and 1959 pennies are relatively east to get. I may even have them in my stash.
Seriously Titch, a Holden? If it ain't Mopar it ain't real!! *chuckle* (true though).
I've seen those biscuit tins, I'm considering the KW one for git build as a gift for the son-in-laws new man-cave. This'll be my first tin so I'm taking my time just to make sure I know what the hell I'm supposed to be doing :)
As for the number plates I like the way US ones have the yr on 'em.
