Hey ive been playing electric violin for years and have just recently discovered these amazing instruments and i am looking to make my first cigar box from the plan provided on this site to make it electric but i had a question, If i intend to be running this instrument through my pedal board and half stack am i going to need a preamp?any suggestions would be great because i want to make my first one asap!

I regularly plug straight into a Roland mini-cube and it sounds great - obviously its preamp handles the piezo input OK.
