Today I finished a project that I started last week whilst working on my Double Neck. I got a lot of projects on, 2 weeks off work and I can't spend it all down a wine bottle, very unsafe to work hungover and all that.

The pair of Canjos are made using a pair of Emoji Tin Lunchboxes, my glued and screwed necks and my normal assortment of parts. I have once again used made use of the necks I spent half of last week putting together and some single coils wired straight to the jack. Also made them so I can still open the tins and do any maintainance.

I have given both of them the same tuning of Open D, but using the top 3 strings from a pack of 10's for one and the bottom 3 strings for the other. so both are Open D, but an octave apart. The acoustic sound is very good despite the size of the tin, but the electric sound is awesome, my Mustang amp loves them both.

What you guys think?

  •  could you explain the process of adding the pick ups please? I'm thinking of adding one to my tin cbg.

    • I start by wiring the pickup to what needs wiring basically, on this one, its just a jack socket. Then I measure the pickup and then decide on where on the body I wish to mount it, depending on the size of the body you can have it wherever you like, making sure that anything on the inside of the body doesn't get in the way, framework etc. then its a matter of cutting the hole for the pickup to be mounted in. I have tin bodies, so I use a small cutting disc on a dremal. then I mount it. direct to the body, I don't use mounting rings or anything like that, but that is the long and short of it.
