Had to refret this neck (first fret job) and needed something to get a good grip on it. This is made from an old broken H.F. Wood clamp . I almost threw it away after breaking the back screw trying to free it up from rust. I noticed for holding it works better with just the center screw . I glued and screwed a block on each jaw that elevated the neck above the screw and screwed the back jaw down to the long board .
Jorgensen clamps are great for wood work. Too bad it broke. Still, it made a great clamp for your fretting work. Looks really nice. I only have one Jorge clamp, and it might find a new function.
Got the guitar for that neck done on Sunday . I should have used the neck clamp when I was doing the strings ....dropped the guitar flat faced on the shop cement floor broke the nut and one knob! All better now and no buzzing frets like the first time.
