This may be old hat to a lot of you but thought I would post it for new builders. Rule: The shorter the box the longer the neck! The distance from the nut to the 12 fret = approximately the distance from the 12 fret to the bridge. In order to keep the bridge on top of the box you must check this distance . This results in proper intonation of the strings. You can shorten the neck scale to achieve this as well. But a long scale with less frets does not do the trick! Check this when selecting boxes and neck length.
