the chords are (well this is simplifying things) at open, fret 5 and 7 only ok?
the scale (the notes to improvise with) as i outlined, frets 3,5 7 and the open strings ok? add in fret 2 if u like. but the chords are at open, 5 and 7..
Thanks Jeff, I found my chart I drew out and couldn't remember how it all got on there. I think the Pentatonic Minor chords (in blues) in the open I V tuning ( I hope) are OPEN-3-5- --6 (optional blue note) --- 7 -10 12 (root). I cant convert that to scaling individual notes down through the strings because frankly I am musically illiterate. lol. Thanks! john

Here is a site that I believe you will find very helpful with your practice.

Use the Guitar Room Advanced
You can retune the guitar and search for any scale or chord that you need.
I hope this answers your question. Enjoy your practice.
BTW: if you are interested, please check out my instructional CD 4.

Although, it is for 3 string, you will find it applicable, because on your 4 string CBG you are only adding another 5 tone.

Thank you for your consideration, Keni Lee

follow the dots....
stick to fret 3, 5 & 7 cant go wrong you have a 9th on the middle string at fret 7 but it'll work, nice bit of spiciness..
+ open strings of course
