Looking for Pearloid (Mother of Toilet Seat) Material...Help?

I am looking for a source for the pearloid material used to wrap drums to make a "mother of toilet seat" fingerboard. Has anyone made one and knows were to get the material? The pick guard material commonly available is too thick.

Yep. Drum Wrap. The Precision Drum website I suggested to him is in New York.

But that paua abalone would look wicked boss on a fretboard...

Keni how about formica, i`ve seen banjo`s with formica overlayed on a fretboard....of coarse it`s fret less
