"Little Buddy" Diddley Bow

I got another new diddley bow design done - I'm calling it the "Little Buddy" - The scale length is only 17" and the whole thing including the can is only 26" long - I'm suprised at the volume for such a little can - Just thought some of you might be interested in seeing it - Thanks for looking - Dennis Brooker

  • FYI - I'm also now making a version with cherry veneer - below is a photo showing both versions - I hate to be partial but I kinda like the cherry version a little better - DB
  • Hy Dennis. Looks good to me. Nice.
  • Weinerdog(?) Thanks for the compliment - The can is secured towards the bottom with 2 srews and the open side is towards the bridge - there is a hole in the backside of the can the string goes through then over the bridge, which has a slight "V" shape to help keep the string centered, over the nut and then on to the tuner - I made my scale in Corel Draw and do most everything in Corel Draw because at one time I was an "Authorized Corel Draw Training Partner" - I printed it out on my Laser Printable wood veneer that I offer for sale (hint, hint, plug, plug) and attached it to the 2x4 - I also added a custom printed wood veneer label to the can to match - that's my "hook" is that I offer that as part of the deal to the customer - they get thier "name" on the custom label on the can when they buy one - DB
  • Dennis - that looks really good. How is the can secured? It looks like it would roll over the towards the bridge(obviously it isnt'). Did you just find a scale print and photoshop it into the design?
