tine sizes are a science and math for sure but can anyone offer rough cut sizes to start off a Kalimba with? Let's say a cigar box type with 14 tines or less.
I've done one with hair Bobby pins by experiment and very nice...although I can't find a basic sorta fret calculator scale I understand for Kalimba tines. Any rough idea of legnths appreciated or a way to input a note and tine length. Thank you.

1. I have seen a few with a clamp-style mount for the keys so that they can be slid in/out to adjust the intonation for temperature or change keys if set up diatonically.
2. Start with the longest snip of the electricians fishing tape that will fit the sound box that you will use, use a tuner to get it to a note, then take its measurement and put it into a fret calculator. as long as all the tines are from the same tape (width/thickness/alloy consistent) the same ratios will apply, 12th root of 2 for each half step.
