You guys have gone pure metal lately with these great submissions. From Brent Briggs' Rusty Shovel guitar (above) to insane instruments made from metal, tin cans and aluminum, these builders prove that Cigar Box Nation is more than empty wooden boxes!
In celebration of the new Tin Can Microphone Kit from sponsor, CBGitty.com, we're sharing some of our recent favorite instruments that were crafted from metal. Got a metal instrument of your own? Post it in the comments!

Aluminum Machine:
Shane Wagstaff's ACM Alloy Guitar features full body binding and a single coil pick up. Other details include a mahogany neck, dog bowl for the cone and home made cover plate and string holder. The guitar is parlour size. Wagstaff also makes these in 3 and 4 string versions.
Motorcycle Screamer:
Marko Natri's Jawamatic 2300 Guitar. It's a blues machine from the sinister side. The body is a Czech Jawa motorcycle's side box. The paint job inspired from Shelby. Other details include a birch neck with jumbo frets, tailpiece from vegetable streamer with hot rod light. Saddle and bridgebones are crafted from raindeer horn. The instrument is finished with a volume 8-ball tuner from car tire valve knob. Gentlemen... shall we kick the motor run and let go.
Street Sign Flying V Guitar:
Motorcycle guitars too fast? How about slowing down a little with Giuseppe Cassa's outlandish Street Sign guitar? A full 6 string neck is attached to the sign that even has F holes. See even more photos of this build in Cassa's pictures page.
Loud Pipes Save Lives:
We have no idea whether Randy Wiggins' Pipe Guitar creation is motorcycle or NASA inspired. Either way, it is one phenomenal looking machine. See more build pics on his photos page.
Spammity Spam Preamp Spam Spam Preamppity Amp:
Cigar Box Nation member, Sasquatcher took our Easy DIY Preamp idea and put it into a belt clip Spam Can! We think this mod is absolutely genius! Not only does the unit clip to your belt (enabling quick changes between guitars), but also because, well... SPAM!
Olive Oil Ukulele:
Giusseppe Cassa returns with this beautiful pic of his Oil Can Ukulele that even sports an internal preamp. Wow.
