I have recently purchased a 6 String Banjo Neck, won it in an auction, got a good price, all of that bit and am now seeking to affix to a big round Biscuit Tin, I've seen it done with 4 and 5 String Banjos so 6 is doable, but I am in unknown territory.
My main issue to the actual fixing the Neck to the tin, I do not know how the inner workings of a Banjo work or how the body is strengthened or brace, let alone how to apply that to a tin and I assume my usual method of a big length of pine in the middle will work, might ruin the sound.
Any Help is greatly appreciated.

I know the feeling, when my grandfather passed, he left me a Banjo which he repaired and is now getting on for a hundred years old and despite me being a lefty, can't help but loving it. there's something about the sound of a Banjo, each pluck is quite satisfying.
Yes, it sounds great! A bit shocking to the ears at first, in a good way :) A friend of mine has a Goldtone banjitar & I can’t seem to put it down when I’m near it?
I figured you were talking about a 6 string banjitar, but you’ve got a bonified banjo neck? I would borrow from the basic banjo construction & run a metal rod through it like a neck through, just to make it simple?
I think you're right, I have a length of Steel Threaded rod which will serve the purpose nicely. I'm looking at bridges for it, I'm in the UK and 6 String Banjo parts are a little far and few between, so I'm thinking a Mandolin tailpiece may be a good alternative.
Also, I'm curious of something, if I used a normal 6 string neck from an electric guitar and construct the rest like a banjo, would it still sound like a banjo?
I have Pictures and Information.
The neck has a scale length of 25.5 inches, which I understand to be standard for the 6 String variant and has 23 frets. I don't know if 23 frets is normal, but I like it.
As the pictures show (if indeed the pictures actually post this time), the end has a heel and a large hole in the end of it with a connecting hole on the underside of the heel.
Looking at it, a length of something fed through the end of the heel and secured may work, but I'm still not 100% on it all.
Good advice Keith, pics are always helpful? when in doubt, use the “Search” function at the very top right of the page? Here is a pic of how most affix the neck to a tin?
Not Going to lie, I never affix a necks to a tin that way, I wasn't on here when I started, didn't know anyone else used tins. Once I have the neck in front of me and can get some pics to you guys, I'll post them. I've seen one method that may work, depending on the holes already in the neck, a length of thread into the neck and through the body to the tailpiece may work.
JP, pictures would help, to see what the end of the neck looks like. Also check out Jim Morris's videos, and or pictures. He has used dowel rod before. Wouldn't use pine, but something harder, if you go with a board.
