I've made several CBG's using the piezo buzzer pick-up wired straight to a 1/4 jack, and I've tried the factory wired with volume and tone pots and they all work great, but my question is can you wire a humbucker straight to a 1/4 jack just like the piezo's or not.

YUP.
and in most cases you dont have to ground the strings etc...
Thanks can you recommend one that is sold here at gitty?
not one inparticular .. i think gitty sells them mostly in sets of 2 , for bridge and neck position . i think the quality is about the same on the hummers he has .
neck position (closer to the neck ) will give you more full and deeper tone if you used it by itself .. the bridge position will give you a brighter sound . some pickup sets are designed with different values for these different positions, other sets are both the same pick up just 2 of them . you may wanna check the output for each when buying .
its not against the law to put a neck pup in a bridge position or vice versa . it may effect your tone a bit . but that could be good .
also , remember if you are switching to mag pups ,, you will need electric strings (steel) .
accustic strings will work ,, but sound a bit "muddy" . (the mag has to pick up the steel inside .)
hope that helps ;-)
Thanks for the help, I will order a couple of different styles this week and build a few more electrics.
