How to Get Your Own Music on Spotify

More and more people are using streaming services like Spotify and iTunes instead of radio or CDs.  I've been asked by many people how I got my own music on these sites... and it's actually really easy.  The secret is using a cheap "distro service."

In the video below, I show how I used DistroKid to upload my 2004 lo-fi album, Surreal to all the major streamers.  If your music is on MP3 or WAV files, you can do this.  It also includes cover tunes.

Good luck!

By the way, if you go on Spotify and search Shane Speal, you'll get to hear this trashy little release of mine in the demonstration...

  •  Thank you two for this information.

  • DistroKid is a great option for independent artists looking to distribute their music online.
And once your tracks are on Spotify, it's essential to promote them to reach a wider audience. If anyone here is a musician and wants to give their songs a boost, you can actually buy Spotify plays to increase your song's visibility. It's a handy way to kickstart your music journey and get noticed.
You can check it out here: https://streamingfamous.com/buy-spotify-plays/. It's an option worth considering if you're serious about your music career.
