  • Thanks for the links and the helpful information. I'm just at the gluing neck to box stage and was unsure what type of glue I should consider on my first attempt at a stick dulcimer. I have a few options now and appreciate your comments and warnings. Regards. Steve Martin
  • Today I attended a workshop on violin repair and had my first experience with hide glue (powdered). I was amazed at how thin and easy to use it was. I plan to start experimenting with it more. I currently use Titebond III but hate fighting to keep the wood from sliding around. Great article though. Very interesting.
  • Damn strong. I've seen this ad before and I seriously have some doubts if the tests were equal.

    I use Red Lable Titebond and gelatine glue. I try not to use ANY PVA glues. They are prone to creep and are plastic in nature. I use Titebond original is what I use for joints that I might not need to remove later. I prefer hide glue to anything else

    Above all DO NOT USE GORILLA GLUE. It expands which is not what you want.
