Coming a bit late, been back to work, been busy, but here are the last of my holiday builds; 6 over 2 days and 26 overall.
Due to the tins I have used and the length of the necks I prepared for each of them, I ended up with a variety of instruments. I have 2 Baritones with scales up to 29.5 inches and equipped with humbuckers, the low growl of the Open C or CGC coming from them is beautiful and yet plays Folsom Prison Blues so perfectly.
The Tenor models were more of a surprise, mostly due to me having to remeasure and cut one of the necks mid build, but the result was pleasant, the standard Open G on a shorter Tenor scale is very nice, especially through the single coils.
The last 2 are somewhat more standard, 25.5 scales, one with GDG and a pair of Piezos and the other DAD with a single coil.
I must admit, the Jazz Cake is my favourite, the positioning of the neck was deliberate so that it can stand by itself without a stand. I have another tin like it and may do it with the tin the other way up so the bite make is made into cutaways.
I may do a couple in September when I have the last weeks of summer off to enjoy, but for now, these are my last. I hope you like.
