Uketobefest kicked off with a bang...er, rattle this week when Tim Mueller of Catalyst Customs posted this wild ukulele design, featuring tambourine zils (aka jinglers) embedded in the headstock.
Mueller used standard ukulele tuning pegs, positioning them in a straight line up the center of the headstock, allowing the zils to occupy the sides.
The uke looks like a one man band's dream axe, allowing the player to shake the instrument for rhythm as the play.
Mueller posted these pictures in our Uketoberfest Submissions Contest along with photos of a few other ukes. Check out the Catalyst Custom's profile for all his photos and info.
Great job, Tim!
