  • There's always a lot of stuff on clearance at Hobby Lobby that I buy for possible uses. Unfortunately, my wife often snags them first for her crafting projects. Here's last weekend's haul of stuff...

I also buy regular guitar parts from China on eBay as long as I don't mind the wait. Sometimes they have some unusual pieces for sale.

  • Awesome suggestions! I love the creativity!
  • My favorite is beer bottle caps. You can get a great selection of colors and designs from your local bar. A 1/2 inch cube of hardwood with a hole in the middle works well when glued into the cap.

  • if you want you can make them out of almost anything that appeals,Bezdez, out of Toronto, and others sell spline inserts dirt cheap

  • half of a wine cork is about the right size for a pot knob, and drilled out  a little bit smaller than the pot shaft grips quite well.

Optionally topped with bottle caps, they work well...

    • copper  pipe  cap  ends  work  great  too  . fill  em  with   hot  glue  . or  the small  thin  knobs  fit  in  great as  inserts  .
