Hello all, I am seeking to buy small gun used shell casings to use as fret markers. Have found a CBG that had them, looked great. In USA around 3 yrs ago they were for sale, someone had made special cast ones. Havent been able to locate the supplier, can anyone help?....thanks Anthony from Oz

  • Have you tried looking for a belt made from spent shell casings in a city gothic clothing shop?

I would also look at country and Western line dance stuff,

You could also take a trip to your nearest rifle range and have a chat.

  •  Best bet is to visit a local gun range.  Often there are buckets of spent shells.  As with all Common Wealth countries they have gone stupid on firearms, tho not nearly as bad here in Canukdom as down under and the UK.

I saw off the primer end of the casing for fret markers too and it does look good, good luck on finding what you need.

  • bullet  markers  =  yum  .. ....  but .....

one  catch tho  ,  be  careful of cross-border sales  with ANY  ammo   and or  gun  paraphernalia . it can cause  issues   ,  even confiscation,  / charges .   yes  even  empty  shells . etc .  same as  animal  parts  /  bones  etc  . ]

just  something to remember  / consider   when  /if  offering  international sales  .  ;-)

(and just ask Johnny depp  how strict  Australia can be  on  their customs laws .)

(edit ) ah . i  see  you are an Ausi  ,  well  , if you  can get  em  local  , that would be  best  .  or faux ones  ;-)

    • Yeah I thought that, yet at a local guitar store my mate bought a guitar strap the other day, lined with 303 rifle shells, he bought it to put on his CBG  he made in his dads memory. Korean War, that really sets it off now.....only he cant walk around in the public/street with it, even tho the firing centres have been removed....thank an cheers

  • Reason I need these, my mate Jeff is making and donating a CBG Vietnam theme to an Australian Returned Servicemens Club,(RSL) to be auctioned for fund raising....50 yrs comemorative Vietnam War ending I think...cheers
