I'm on my 4th build but my first attempt at fretting. I've read a ton on here and couldn't find a clear answer. I use threaded rod for my bridge and nut. My question is, when I lay out the frets do I do it from the edge of the fret board or from the center of the threaded rod? Seems like the strings leave from the center of the rod vs the edge of the fret board like a traditional nut? What do y'all think?

  • You are correct, center of rod to center of rod will be your scale length so center of nut rod will be your zero point.

    • Thanks for the reply. I was stressing about messing it up. Lol
