That's cool, but I think it's handier to be able to tune just using a reference tone. I keep an A-440 on my cell phone so it's always available, and a standard 6-string can be easily be well-tuned from that one note.
Using a 7th fret harmonic, a fretless 3-string can also be easily tuned to AEA, GDG, or DAD using only the A-440.
You've probably heard not to tune a guitar using 7th fret harmonics because it is slightly off and the error will compound from string to string. That is true for a standard guitar and tempered tuning, but for 3-string fretless, using the harmonic will sound more powerful and pure - better than a digital tuner.
