Hello everyone,

I'm a new member, trying to finish his first build and have hit a bit of an issue...

I've recently bought, among other things, an Electric Delta pickup and when i've opened the package I've noticed that the magnet tops were heavily scratched (see images). I don't mind the scratches estetically, thruth be told, it kind of fits the overall theme and the whole ordeal of sending it back to USA is both pricey and time consuming from where I'm from (Croatia).

My question, as a total newbie is will it affect the sound produced by the pickup, and did enyone had a similar problem?

  • Looking forward to hearing you play!!!

  • Totally cool question and concern. But no. The scratches are there to create a look. Like the exposed magnets on Fender pickups or the screws on Gibson humbuckers. They all get scratched up over time. And along with the pickup you have no sound or tone is lost.

    • Thanks for the quick reply, my initial impression was pretty much what you wrote, but as I'm new to this, I figured it's best to ask someone in the know...
Anyway, now that my mind's at ease, I'm good to go building my first CBG :)

      Big thanks again!
