Hi All,
I can't seem to find anything about this, so I thought I'd ask here. My first and only build has been tuned to E5 using the EAD strings. I found that it sounded best this way (perhaps my background with bass). However, I've been experimenting with other tunings (EBD, EBG#).
What I'm wondering, before I go out and buy some new strings, is it possible to use the D, B, and High E string to tune to EBE? In essence, skipping the G string. My music teacher has told me that the higher strings will have more distinct tone if I desire to play triads and not power chords. Thanks for any feedback! -Will

Of course you can. Full 6 string Open E tuning is EBEg#be. See if you like the tone with such a wide gap between bass and treble. Enjoy, Keni Lee
