2nd day of holiday, decided to experiment with my next build. as a result of the 4ft broom handles that I got sent by mistake, I end up with a lot of short end pieces which I can't use, so I decided to try and make a folding neck Diddley Bow by screwing 2 of them together onto a hinge to make a folding neck suitable for travel.
not gonna lie, I had no real plan for making this thing, I just got on with it, got a star shaped biscuit tin for the body, to lengths of broom handle and figuring I needed a lot of tension to hold the neck straight, a thick 56 gauge B string and the end result, quite good. The string and a slightly stiff hinge holds the neck in place whilst playing and the sound isn't bad either.
Also built a Diddley Bass using a Bourbon Biscuit Tin and a 2 String Chigger using a SpongeBob Squarepants Tin. not bad for 3 1/2 hours work. haven't tried them on my Mustang amp yet, that's next on my list of things to do.

Nice work - all excellent (but SpongeBob rules :0))
Nice idea for using materials. Do you have a photo showing the hinge in place?
Thank you Tom and yes I do.
