Good morning!

Just bought my first CBG and one of these mini amps soon afterwards, and the feedback when I turn the drive up even a little bit is unbearable.

Is it the plastic of the amp and I need something more solid & shielded?  User error on my part?

I appreciate any other recommendations on amps too.  This one looked cool, and I liked that it's battery operated and can just pop out on my porch with it.

Have a good day y'all!

  • Simple things to try first are putting the speaker further away from you and turning it so the speaker points away from you (try it side on and rotate from there). You will need to play around with the volume to find the max volume you can get with zero gain. Then as you add gain reduce volume to stop feedback until you get the sound you are after.

If you are still unhappy and getting feedback issues if you are able to get into the box smothering the disc with mastic will help (others swear by putting screwed up newspaper inside the box).

Looking at the instructions online it gives a whole host of possible sounds by playing with the volume/tone/gain - you might be able to get these but add much less gain than suggested.
  • Damon's right....It's got a piezo and I'd just like to practice with a little distortion.  Not necessarily to loud.

    Thanks guys!

  • Your guitar probably has a piezo for a pickup, they are very prone to feedback.

You could try wiring in another piezo in parallel or a capacitor. Good luck!
