I am playing around with my CBG that is tuned DADF# and wondering what these chords are.

When I do barre chords for E, F.G, etc. up the neck, I am also fretting the A string two frets up, or the F# string one fret up.  Anyone have a clue what chords these are?

Thanks,

BB

  • These are "major 6th" chords for the A string (basis for a blues shuffle). For the F# string, these are "sus 4" chords, meaning that you're suspending the "4th" of the chord before going to the "3rd" - F#. So...if you're writing them down, either D6 or Dsus4 (then change the chord name as you move up the neck).

    Should be DBDG <- G
