I have to admit I am hooked on the Free section on Craigslist. Today there was a woodworker guy moving from his home and giving away some wood. Well to make a long story short I got over 100 pieces of nice oak and a bit of maple all just a little over 3/4 x 1 1/2, random lengths of 20 to 36". Way more than I can use so if you as in or passing thru Grand Rapids Michigan, give me a holler and I'll gladly share some with you.

I found a local cabinet maker who puts a scrap wood pile out in back of his shop. He used to have to pay to have his scrap hauled away, but now crafters come by and use most of it. I often get mahogany, oak, mango and other woods in a variety of sizes, useful for both necks and fretboards. Check with the ones in your area. You might be surprised!
