Hey guys, just found this place and decided to share my build. This is my first instrument build so it was a huge learning experience. I first got this idea when I saw someone build a gas can banjo.
Here's the details; the body is an air breather from a 50's Cadillac, the neck and dowel are one piece carved from a pine 2x4 from a 100+ year old house, skeleton key tuner buttons, brass watch cogs for fret board inlays and fret position markers, goat skin head to close in the back, rosewood fretboard and bridge, drawer pull tailpiece, deer antler nut, and tone monster dual piezo pickup.
I'll post up all the pics, and try to get a sound sample.
