I recently had a local musician order two of my cigar box guitars and he asked for them to have old "rat rod" type of parts on them. I had two nicer guitars underway, so I decided to give them artistic pickguards made from old steel cans.
The guitar on the left has a pickguard made from a steel beer can. The one on the right comes from a tobacco tin. Here's how I did it:

sanding the edges will also help to reduce the "finger slice & dice" aspect.
A tip:
Put double sided tape on the back. This will prevent the metal/aluminum from deforming and pushing in and creating a crinkle/pop noise.
Those look great Shane.
Have to be real careful cutting them I found out when cutting the Sprite can for my build awhile back. Those cans can cut fast and deep.
I like how you beveled the edges on yours.
