I am making a hubcap based 4 string instrument and need advice on the following.
1. Because of the dome on the hubcap, I need to add an extension onto the neck (see the mock-up photo), the question is what would a 6inch heel give sufficient strength?
2 Wha scale length and tuning would be bets, I am thinking of a banjo, but would a standart=d guitar be best?

WayfinderOpps looks like I posted twice in error. Thanks for the advice, I have since dropped the hubcap down below the fret board, but nay need to add the board you suggested.
