I need to replace a flatpup that was sadly damaged by my own careless mistake. I am very sad about the damage because it was the last pickup I got from Dan Sleep before he passed away :-(
I've reached out to Elmar in Europe, but his "shop is closed" for a while while he catches up with backlog.
Does anyone still have any flatpups made by Dan? I really wanted this CBG build to use his pickup in his memory. I'd need a 4-string version.
Thanks,
/Mark

I could try to fix it. Depending at which point the coil(s) broke, I would remove the windings till there. Then I would re-wind the lost windings. Or you could try if you are familiar with that fine enamel wires.
That is probably an option, but the shipping costs and time worry me. I think I want to pursue repairing it, but for time considerations, I also wanna just stock up on some more fresh pups as well.
If any still exist that Dan made, I'd also like to get at least one of those in his memory.
Talk to C B Gitty, in one of their Friday video's, (2 weeks ago) there is a guy north of them, who Dan Sleep gave all the info to, before passing, on how to make them, but don't know if he is in production yet.
I think downtown vinnie has some . you can friend him and ask .
