Anyone know what this is?

   It has 10 strings, 7 of the strings come up through the neck.  I have never seen this before.  It is played with a bow.  My wife got this for me for my birthday.  She had no idea what it was but new I would love it.

    I'd never heard of a sarangi until I read RTZ's post. Found the following pic of a saringda, which looks a bit like yours.

    Yes its a sarangi. Should have an elephant shaped bridge.

    Looks like a type of sarangi from India part of the Vitat family. got this on google images.305868919?profile=original
