Hi, in recent times there have been a few questions asked about how thick should the top of a CBG be. Well often if using a real cigar box to have to use what you have, but if building your own box why not go for the best sound you can get out of a simple box often using less that ideal materials.

As I have mentioned before if one is taking the time to think about thickness, also think about flexibility. Different timbers, or even the same timbers, can have the same thickness but different  flexibility.

So...................here is a device that will help you to thickness your timbers, Providing you have a drill press.

The Wagner Safe- T- Planer. Made in the USA, I must have had mine for 30 years.

The top in the photos was flexible enough at just under 3mm.
