When I tried to electrify my CBG, I looked around for a piezo element. I figured there would probably be one inside one of those greeting cards that sing a little song so I dissected one to scavenge that piezo.

It didn't have a piezo but it did have a little plastic speaker. I tried that and it worked!

Now I have no idea how it compares to a standard piezo. Maybe the next CBG I build, I'll use a piezo and see how much difference it makes. I just thought I'd put it out there that there is an alternative if you can't readily come up with a piezo.

  • yup  ..  every   speaker  is  a microphone     backwards  .

you   can   take  a 3  inch    or   so   speaker   and  tape it inverted   onto a  parlor guitar  ,  jack  it  to an amp ,  and  it  will act like a  mic/ piezo  .. etc  .   some folks   use them  in  stomp  boxes  .

altho  more  like a electro  mic and less like a  piezo  , they are  piezo-ish  sounding   . and touchy . ;-)
