I am 1st time poster. Been a member for years. I have started a 3 string and would like to make a bass out of it. It has a really long neck and a small body. The neck has been scored but I don't remember what I was thinking at the time I started whether for a 3 string or for a uke. Can anyone tell me if I can build what I want or need to re-do the neck? My son says don't fret it.(???) Go with a naked neck and use a bottle. I am really into the blues. Any information will be greatly appreciated and needed if I am to get the build completed.

  • Measure between the Nut & 12th fret, then multiply by 2, this will tell you the Scale length. FYI, they make Ukes with nylon Bass strings, so no big deal if you wanna turn a short scale into a Bass?
