Hi, yesterday I mentioned on Sean Murphy's spokeshave post about a jig to aid in the sharpening of short blades. This one took under ten minutes to make. As I never throw anything away, I had all the parts to hand.
Still a refinement to do but.......

No . . . it's a very good idea. It reminds me of a jig that I've seen used to correctly trim the angled sides of a Savart, trapezoidal violin (so they fit perfectly with the back and front pieces).
You're much more artistic than me; I just hold blades against grinder with a couple pair of vise-grips
Hi BD, yes that's another way. This was more aimed at fitting the tool into a honing angle gauge on an oilstone if the need arises.
I made it as a demo, but I will use it now I've got it.
