Hey all, finally got some time to put into My lone ranger Lunchbox git. this one was a lot of challenges but oh so worth it. Now if I can just find a buyer that loves it as much as I do. I want to thank you all for the troubleshooting help with the misdrilled headstock, you guys saved this one. Instead of donating this git I am building another true box guitar to give to one of the victims of the wildfires here. They lost everything including his guitar so I'll give him a CBG and see if that renews his interest. Again folks thank you for the input on this it is one of my best this far.
Have a look

Can't say that I'd want to let that one go either. Nice work on the headstock. Love the fretboard. I thought you had done some wood burning into it at first. Either way truly a git to treasure.
Looks great, really like the headstock.
Love it!!
Well, it didn't sell on ebay, made me nervous that someone would swoop in and minimum bid it in the last minutes but no go. that was kinda heart rending as it is a git I am partial to and didn't want to give it away unless I decide to give it away..lol Think I'll get a few more built and hit some of the summer festivals or just keep them all. Give them away as gifts.. that feels better than haggling over something you crafted and having someone else with the made in china mindset trying to buy it for peanuts... isn't it odd how getting nothing for something you make is usually way more satisfying than getting less than you think it's worth?? oh well..
Same... I give mine away. I prefer the grins over green.
Actually the lunchbox is not one of the collectable ones, it is less than 20 years old and a Chinese made one I got it in a lot of 3 off ebay for $20. It still has lots of character and some nice aging on it. The response on ebay is overwhelmingly underwhelming though, about half tempted to end the auction before I have to give the thing away.. actually if they get it at the starting price I am paying them to take it. Tough market...
Thanks Darryl, it was fun to design and cut, was a pain to sand
Don't do that before you get some feedback from some of the folks on here that have bought/sold/traded on ebay. There is a strategy to the transaction. It ain't cut and dried. People will wait to when it gets to the end before they bid. They don't want to tip their hand that they are interested. How many people are "Watching"? Some of you other CBG junkies need to give a fellow suffer a strategy
Sweet build... I'm building a Redneck git now and was going to do fret markers using casing heads. Seeing yours makes it a for sure I'm going to use them. Hope you get some good coin for the build, its worth it.
that headstock is fantastic
Really cool. That lunchbox must be quite collectible.
