thanks, will

if you can build the cbg then a ukelele is no problem. i just use the same system.this was my 2nd ukelele.but this time i decided the taper the neck, more room for your fingers. so t took way long than usually because i wasnt sure what i wanted to do. it went with a the tenor scale of  18 inches/ 18 frets. i marked and cut the nut slot and fret slots before i tapered  the neck. i knew i wouldnt have a 90 degreee to hold  a square to after  tapering. i went with 1 .5 at the nut  and 2 inched at the last fret. my may go  1/8  thinner on the next one.  the nylon strings take quite a while to stretch out and sound good. for  about 3 days i was disapointed with its sound,  seemd out of wack. but then it all came together. i have a simple sled withholds for tapering. nothing fancy or scientific about it. after rounting  the nut slot and  cutting fret positions i  take a 1x3 and trim it done to 1.5  starting at least 5 inches  above  nut  slot. . cutting same amount off both sides. then  i measure  about 1/2 past 18th fret. , mark  board so the end will be 2inches wide ,  clamp the board to the sled.,align board to pencil mark  atwide end. ,align board at 1.5 ( nut end ), clamp and cut..flip it over and cut other side. hope sthis helps,Bruce
