Happy Sunday! This classic 1971 tune was originally recorded by The Rolling Stones. I decided to do a cover of it on my 3-string cigar box guitar. It actually sounds pretty good stripped down like this.

Thanks for that Bob. I'm glad you liked it. I see the kids giving that ol' lap steel a whirl. Always good to start 'em young.

That version was so good - actually sounds very 'pure' like that - a natural and simple balance between the vocals and the instrument - no distractions or complications - it hits 'home' with that simple balance.

PS:  lol - have to post some things - been doing the weekend thing for the blueberry pickin' -- some classic pictures and the #500  - new strings, a subtle tweak to the nut - SATSUMA GONE WILD :)

They did not play Dead Flowers but I get them all to try their hand at music and turn them loose!

Thanks Rope and Doug. I've always liked this song though I feel the Stones did it a little too upbeat. I slow it down a bit to make it sadder. Anyway, I can't wait to see that LGP Doug.

Well played and sung Kale! Good seeing you play your 3-string CBG. It works very well for this song. Like the Virginia Beach T! Reminds me that I need to start on the Virginia License Plate guitar I want to build. Picked up a great 72 plate when visiting earlier in the year.

Nicely done. It’s been a go-to busking song for awhile.

Townes Van Zandt did a version of it Uncle. That might be why you think that. I agree... it's in his wheelhouse.

Nice, nice, job.   I don't know why, but this always seems like a song that Townes Van Zandt would have written.  Great song by Jagger and Richards.  And yup.  RE:strings, less sounds like more to me on this one.
