The Sound Sample Medley of (“The Piece of Shite”) AGP #424 “Balikpapan Chugger” is: the couple of Clean Riffs are through a Roland Micro-Cube with Vol on Full and 50% Gain, the Dirty one is through my Fender Mustang II, using my favourite Grunge Settings.
PS. It just took me over 2 hrs to upload a 1.46 minute video on Utube

"Thanks Rick", has since been modified, and while the Clean Tone is now nicer, the Grungy Neighbour Annoying tone has really improved, have been a bit busy lately, but will try and get some sound samples posted soon :-)
I really like the first clean tone Alan. I know, this coming from metal head. Something about the pure lingering tone, awesome! I just got old...right! Pick, you never left smart!
Cool , I feel smart again . lol ;-)
Yup! Pick, took the "TIP" :-D, and used a couple of fibre washers to isolate the Jack from the Tin, which must have a high metal content, as a magnet strongly attaches itself, if bought into contact with the Tin, finished the modifications late yesterday afternoon, gave it a quick test run last night, and to my deaf old ears, definitely sounds much more betterererer, will put a sound sample up later today, using the same Amps and settings as the first one. :-)
Yup, anything really that separates the 2 even wood or and empty space pickup not touching the lid anywhere ) . I have found most "tins" are exactly that , Tin and alloy mixed and not too magnetic , Some tins have a higher metal content , and those are the ones that usually cause issues .
In hind-sight my use of the word "tip" may have been a bad choice of words, for lack of saying " remember another option to try " while trouble shooting / improving .
"Tip" comes off cocky while talking to and experienced builder as yourself .
my bad. ;-)
"Thanks Dave", Yep!, love my Micro Cube, I think it has the ability to make a bad guitar sound better than it really is, I don't recall denting the Fender Amp, but as you know I often like to do my "Loud Grungy" style using it.
Good Luck with the grounding problems with Norma, and as we all know, Pick is the go to man for any electrical problems, and I'm sure your Grand Daughter will enjoy Norma immensely when she finally receives it. :-)
PS. I recently became a "Great Grandfather", I'm not sure how many other CBN members are in the same category. ????
Thanks for the Tips Pick, just checked my records, and found that I have done 26 previous Biscuit/ Cookie Tin builds, and have never used non conductive washers in any of them, and have never had any problems, but will take your tips onboard, and use them on this build, which is currently on the bench being modified, in a similar fashion to a few other Tin Builds I've done in the past, which is essentially a "Box in a Tin Build", and by non conductive washers I am assuming you mean Nylon, Plastic, Fibre or Rubber Washers ????. :-)
"Thanks Poorness", but I personally didn't like the sound it was putting out when first finished, its currently on the work bench being modified, and hopefully!, will have a better sound to it when finished sometime today :-)
Thanks for the tips Pick. I wondered about the tins as bodies for piezo pups.
I think you dented the Fender Allan. :*). But sounds good through the cube. I’m having trouble with Norma. Ground issues. And started just before packing it for my granddaughter. Shite!
