UNK .. when HE was in the Navy he  crossed the equator a couple of times on a ship called the USS David R. Ray (DD-971) Which makes him a member of the "Ancient Order of the Deep". They have a ceremony for that  line crossing event and give out a very cool certificate that you see on the guitar body background .  His navy pub logo is  superimposed  on top .. hence the bottle opener .

The U.S. Navy has well-established equator line-crossing rituals. Sailors who have already crossed the Equator are nicknamed "Shellbacks", Trusty Shellbacks, Honorable Shellbacks, or Sons of Neptune. Those who have not crossed are nicknamed Pollywogs, or Slimy Pollywogs.
