Thanks Danny and Dennis.  I'd love to have been around when it came out, but I was only born that year!

Thanks Snuffy. Yeah Uncle John I prefer open tunings too and I've converted a few regular ones into open tunings but sometimes I just have to give in and match the tuning on the record.

Great song. Very cool translation.

Thanks, Clarky.  I prefer open tunings like a GDGB for open G 4 string.  The guys I am talking about might get more instant gratification out of DGBE which they could play close to immediately.

Thanks Uncle John.  It's very low tuning this one, C#, F#, B, E.  The guitar is normally in open G so I tune the low G down to A, the B string up 1/2 step so that it is A, D, G, B#, then use a Digitech Drop pedal that allows you to drop the tuning with the flick of your foot, so this one is detuned something like 8 semi-tones or 4 whole tones (could be wrong there).  I could make it simple for myself and put E, A, D, G strings and then detune it but it's convenient for going back to open G again.

Who says making things simple is a good thing! :D

Sounding good, Clarky!   Hey, I know two young guys who like this kind of music.  I am going to get two 4 strings ready to gift them.   How are your gits tuned?   Both those guys play standard six string tunings at fairly high levels.
