AGP #428 - “Lammy” - 3 String Fretless Guitar
Scale: 584.2mm / 23 inches
Strings :.044NW/.030NW/.020NW/
Tuning: G D g
Got the idea for this laminated Sound Board build courtesy of a recent posting on a CGB Facebook site, the Bowl is some sort of Laminated Pine, which was given a tickle with the Gas Torch, the Neck is Radiata Pine & Forest Red Gum, the Headstock Wings are Merbau, the Timbers on the Sound Board radiating out from the through Neck are, Tulip Poplar, Merbau, Norway Spruce and Australian Red Cedar, the Bridge is European Beech, all timber is coated with 2 coats of “British Paints Acrylic Clear Gloss”, a 4k Gitty Flat Mount Humbucker is hardwired to the Output Jack, and grounded from the Jack to the Stainless Steel Strainer Tailpiece. :-)

"Thanks Bob" more than happy with the way this one turned out, so there will be more Laminate Type Builds in the future, as I still have have plenty of left over bits of Wood lying around. :-)

Seventeen LPG Builds in total 'UJ', 12 American 6" x 12",  4 Aussie 5" x 14" and 1 Aussie 4" x 10" Trailer Plate.  :-)

Well, we should build when and with what suits us.  You have done a vast assortment.  I think of you most for your woods, tins and bowls.  Oh, and that metal body guitar you did.  That impressed the heck out of me.

Have you done some LPGs?  I don't recall any Australian license plate guitars.

"Thanks UJ", and Yes!, I have been a little quiet on the building side of things lately, due to a few reasons, the Wife's recent Surgery, the fact that I'm running out of new ides for different types of builds, and also running out of room to store them all, I think this one makes 374 that I still have in my possession, along with around a dozen or more various Shop Bought Instruments I've accumulated, But one thing is for sure, I won't stop building them!, I always keep a healthy supply of Hardware, Strings, Pickups, Boxes, Tins & Timber etc. on hand, and I'm pretty sure another idea for a build will surface shortly.

And Yes!, was aware that back in the day, Guitar Makers, along with Violin & Piano Makers etc., used Horse Hide Glue in the construction of their Instruments, in fact I have had a Bottle of Titebond Liquid Hide Glue in my Shed for quite a few years, not sure of what Animals the Glue came from thou, and have never used it as a Glue, bought it with the express purpose of using it for the couple of "Crackle Paint" builds I've done in the past, I'm also pretty sure the trusty old "Recycled Piano" from a few years back was glued together using Hide Glue, at the time I separated some bits by throwing them into my swimming pool for a few days, the couple of small Tulip Poplar Laminates in this build came from that same old Piano. :-)

I was wondering yesterday what you were up to.  Seemed like I had not seen an AGP creation for a while.  Almost messaged you.   This one is  big brimming bowl full of good looks and wood tones and nice proportions.  That head stock sure compliments the body.  Wow, and so does the neck.  Lots of glue used here.

Hey, you may know this.  Back in the day, lots of guitar makers used horse hide glue for the neck to body connection.  If the neck angle got out of whack, a luthier or someone could steam the glued joint and it would come apart so they could reset the neck and reglue it.

Very nice! Love the headstock and where it mounts.
