Lark, I love the Spartan, non shiny overall vibe of this guitar! All the elements work together for the look. I’ve yet to play a cigar box guitar that is as loud as a 6-string acoustic unplugged, so I use an amp to bring it up to that level for my normal play. Plugged in they come alive anyway! Awesome build!!!

Well,  a good guitar to play quietly and there are times for that.  And plug in to roar.  That top was not likely to produce big or great acoustic sound.  Glad it's a good intonator.  I am not happy with them when they are not.

Sound is anemic acoustically.  Not a big surprise, as I really beefed up the box and likely damped whatever resonance may have been there.  Plugged in - Wow- it sounds great. 

I have the action at ~3mm where the neck meets the body.  I tad low for slide, but not bad.  The relief is ~ the thickness of a business card.

Tuned GDG with heavy electric strings (0.036, 0.026, 0.017)

The intonation is spot on.  It sounds better than my neighbors Squier Strat, which has never played well.

Like the song says "guitars that tune good and firm feeling women"

Came out really nice. The walnut is a nice touch. Can't even tell it is a door strike from here. I like to use scrap metal and cut my own tails- but I have used a door strike.

Walnut base for door strike plate tailpiece.  Holes a wee bit too far apart, sigh.
