This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

here is the piezo and mic..

Very slick, Timothy. When you're done with it, can we hear it, can we hear it?

sure as soon as i get strings..  will have to do a fret job on it in the near future but it can wait..

The ol’ Yamaha’s getting a pro makeover :)

Great modifying job there Timothy.

If nobody has seen it yet, look at my thread in Building Secrets, Tips, Advise, Discussion about the CBGitty Lipstick Tube pickups.

yep it is my 3 rd Yamaha now..lol electric Pacifica, a C40 classical and now this one it is a FG-412 VS .

apparently its a ply side and back which i can confirm after cutting bits out...  not a solid top and the VS stands for Violin Sunburst...

i seem to be becoming a Roland and Yamaha fan..  got a roland micro cube, a roland SC88pro midi soundcanvas and a roland SB-55 soundbrush for midi backing tracks.. and a Fender DG-7 acoustic  that i have had for over 20 years..

No pics today, my camera died a few days ago, but I gots me some very nice hardwood sheets in yesterday.   .125x4x24. 1 each of walnut, curly maple, mahogany, and cherry. Also gots me one .25x6x24 inch cherry for the base of my iroko lap steel project for the near future... Gonna be winding up a few scatter-wounds using that wood coming soon. Gots me some 'sperimintin' to do too after I build a couple my old way...

Got my replacement camera in today and here are a couple of pics from it. This thing seems cloudier than the other. May just need a good lens cleaning... I hope, I hope. Anyway, here's a pic of the wood I got.

Speaking of which... The mahogany showed a little cupping so I sanded it with some 400 grit and put on some linseed oil, (only thing I had that I knew would help.), on it and it flattened back out in 24 hours. Should I put something on them to keep the others from doing that, or worse? So far, they are flat.

Hi Ray, keep them stickered like you have in the photo and seal the end grain, and put a weight on top. Flatsawn timber will cup a lot easier than quarter-sawn timber.
