As some of you may know, I do not build unless the weather is good. I haven't had a good day of weather since September, long time to go without a build on the go. yesterday was good, did some spraying and prep work on a Strat and Tele, today I built this, a Diddley Bass Canjo.

I got the tin just before Christmas, the chocolate combined with quite a bit of Baileys made me a little ill, but you know how it is "f*** it, its Christmas" and all that bit. I was drawn to it because of the unusual design and the size. long tin, perfectly round, but thin, nearly the same thickness as the neck itself. And of course the built in hole in the middle of it, couldn't resist.

either side of the central hole I got a length of pine, one being the neck itself of course, screwed tight into place adding to the rigidity of the tin. I got a 65 gauge bass string on it and it sounds pretty good. the string reverberates though the tin itself and through the center hole as well, but the reverberations  bounce off each other, the sound is almost out of phase.
