I don't have a diagram but I can tell you how I did it.

Find a picture of a firebird that was taken completely flat and perpendicular to the guitar.
Insert the picture into a power point document
Blow it up to the actual size you want.
Print it in sections
Tape it together
Use carbon paper to transfer the pattern onto wood.
