I love my hobo fiddle too Poorness. I modified mine into a 2 string cello. It works great with a good bass tone. I just got the box kit and made my own longer neck.

Thanks Poorness.  I have the Hobo fiddle in queue in my garage.  With your inspiration it will be moving to the front of the very slow moving line. I too will add a piezo as a very easy option.

That looks dandy.  Good story too.  Nylon strings?!?!    Pretty neat string guide.   Kitty likes it and I do too.
