Keith, bowed would be an understatement. How about a bow? Thank you all for your great comments. Have to add that this thing is insanely fun to play. Pluck and bend, or let a dowel (or arrow) bounce off the strings and bend. Maybe I should add cello strings. Dave? I like "Deer Slayer", so it will be, it was told. (Lawrence).
